What Zharfex is, and what your manager sees

One page, for anyone who has been asked to leave notes in Zharfex.

What it does for you

Once a day you talk (or type) for about a minute about your work. Zharfex sorts it out for you: what you're waiting on this week, what you promised, and what went quiet. We call it your mirror, and it's yours.

What your manager doesn't see

• Your notes. Not the text, not the audio. No setting changes that.
• Your mirror.
• How often you leave notes, or when. Nobody is scored.
• Pages you keep private. Every page starts private.

What your manager does see

• Patterns: when at least three people separately, without having talked to each other, raise the same snag (say, "the Jebel Ali container is still stuck"). Only teams are named, never people. Zharfex never shows a pattern about a person.
• Pages you choose to share: with your team (your manager sees it only if they're in that team, and it doesn't say who wrote it), or with the whole company. Only if you share a page with the whole company can your name appear next to something quoted from it, and a sentence resting on your page alone is labelled "one person's account".
• The coverage map: which teams are taking part, and where it's quiet. A team of three or more is described in words only (heard, or thin), never with a count of who recorded; a smaller team is listed only as "small team".

Your manager's promise

The owner has promised in writing not to use Zharfex to assess performance, decide promotions or bonuses, or make any decision about one person, and not to ask anyone to show their notes.

Where your words go

• Audio goes to ElevenLabs to become text; text (never audio) goes to Claude, from Anthropic, to be read. Both are US companies.
• ElevenLabs keeps the audio and the transcript on our plan (zero retention is for its enterprise customers only), and its documents don't say for how long [to confirm]. Deleted items stay in its backups for up to 30 days.
• Anthropic deletes API inputs and outputs within 30 days, keeping them up to 2 years only if they're flagged for breaking its usage policy.
• Everything else stays on Zharfex's server. Where the server is: [being decided]
• We don't use what you say to train any model. Anthropic doesn't train on API data by default. ElevenLabs may use content to improve its models unless the account opts out; our opt-out: [to confirm].

If you'd rather not

• Taking part is optional. Saying no costs you nothing and isn't reported to your manager.
• Delete one note: open it and choose "Delete this note". The audio, every version of the text and everything read from it are deleted.
• Leave completely: Me → "Delete my whole account". All your notes, audio and pages are deleted, and what you said stops counting in any pattern. A pattern that falls below three people when you leave is no longer shown.
• Get a copy of everything: Me → "Download all my data", in one file.
